Sarah's Montessori is the latest addition to Sarah Drummond's Montessori family, which began with Jelly Beans nursery in 2004. With over 25 years in childcare, Sarah raised her own three daughters the Montessori way — today each of them confidently follows her own path. That same approach guides everything we do here.
Set in a beautiful heritage building on Imperial Avenue, Westcliff-on-Sea, we believe in being part of the local culture, ensuring your children grow up rooted in their sense of self, family, and community — with nutritionist-designed meals, large outdoor spaces, and a team of dedicated, Montessori-trained educators.
Our StoryOur curriculum is built on five areas of learning, nurturing confident, articulate young people who embrace life to the full.
Exercises that link the home and the nursery — polishing, doing up buttons, laying the table — building independence through everyday life.
Story time, singing and Maria Montessori's extensive reading and writing system provide your child with rich opportunities for language development.
Diverse and fascinating Montessori materials offer a structured series of activities, making mathematical concepts concrete and joyful.
Well thought-out exercises help children sort, match, compare and grade objects by shape, size, touch, taste, and sound.
All things to do with the world and communities — concrete examples of land formations, life cycles, plants, animals and cultures.

Sarah's Montessori has been an incredible support to our family since the day they opened. When our daughter first joined, we saw an almost immediate improvement in her language skills. Fast forward two years, and she has blossomed into a strong-willed, confident, and independent young girl—traits we know were nurtured by the wonderful environment Sarah provides. We've had such a positive experience that we didn't hesitate to enroll our son, and we are so excited to see him progress and grow over the coming years!
Sarah's Montessori is like a home away from home. A real family for both us and our son. Every morning staff greet us at the door with enthusiasm. We can sense how much staff love their jobs and the children in their care. We feel total trust leaving our son in their hands every day. We love the Montessori teaching a great deal. It's one of the reasons we fell in love with Sarah's Montessori. The learning environments both inside and outside are amazing. Our son is becoming very confident and independent every day. Thank you Sarah Montessori for taking care of our son.
Sarah's Montessori has been a wonderful place for our son. From the moment he joined, the staff have been warm, attentive and genuinely committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment. The facilities are clean, secure and thoughtfully designed, which gave us real peace of mind. We've seen our son grow in confidence, make friends, and develop new skills every day. It's clear that the team prioritises both safety and happiness and we couldn't be more grateful for the care they provide.
